Name Lanesha Gerron
I am a hard working single mother trying to spread positivity and simple hacks to my fellow introverts. I created the website, The Wallflower Club to do just that. I want girls and women alike, who grew up like I did feeling alone and unloved, to know that they’re are plenty of people who are willing to accept you. Remain positive and show the light you have inside, and people will be attracted to the natural vibe you radiate.
Random question You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What colour would you be and why? This is a great question! If I was a new addition to the crayon box, I would have my outer color be gray, but when you color with it it would actually be a bright vibrant orange. Logic doesn’t apply right? I feel like this would be my color because I am reserved initially for everyone, but the people that actually try to get to know me past the wall I put up, find out that I very goofy, fun, individual. I love to sing and dance ( even if I’m not particularly good at it.) But, people wouldn’t actually think that by just looking at me. That is why I would be this magic gray crayon.
Are you a bold introvert? Have you always been one? I haven’t always been a bold introvert. I was very ashamed of myself when I was younger. I was always bullied, and called all sorts of names. This experience made me very insecure where in my teenage years I shut a lot of people out of my life. But know I embrace who I am when I want and I’m not ashamed of being introverted at moments. No one’s journey is the same. Being a bold introvert to me is feeling like a bold introvert on the inside no matter what society stipulations try to tell you what bold is if you feel bold you are.
What do you do? I’m working a 9-5 job while I start my journey to entrepreneurship. I am a medical coder, which involves interpreting doctors notes and translating that into medical codes. I really enjoy coding, but I really long to have my own online store eventually.
What are you most proud of? Any mother can relate to me when I say that I am most proud of my two children, they are my world. They are the sweetest boys a mother can have and I don’t know where I would be without them. They help me learn more about myself every day and it is the most interesting thing to see them grow and become their own person. My oldest is my very hyper extrovert. He loves people and talking with everyone. He is not the least bit shy and my youngest is more introverted, both are perfect to me. My oldest really loves drawing and arts, and my youngest really loves to learn new things and loves going to school. I really couldn’t ask for better gifts in this world.
Do you feel that your personality trait has helped you achieve your goals? I feel like there are many qualities about me that are helping me achieve my goals currently, I have always been a resourceful person. I’m always very self-driven. This comes from me doing a lot of things on my own just so that I could be self-sufficient. I learned how to change my car’s oil on my own, learned how to fix broken equipment on my own and etc. I think that part of myself is really what is helping me keep motivated on a daily basis. I urge anyone that that doesn’t feel as though they have something to offer in this world to really take a look at themselves and take a look at what you are good at I have to say everyone has to offer something no matter what person you are. There are people that are going to relate to you, people that have been in your shoes, so don’t be afraid of who you are
What advice do you have for introverts who are worried about chasing their dreams? My advice that I would give to other introverts is something that I say to myself on a daily basis to keep me going. You are enough, you don’t need to change or alter yourself to reach your dreams. Even if you fail, those moments are what you need to drive your success, tell yourself you are going to do something and go for it!so go for it!
