Bold Introvert; Let’s Hear From Desola

Name: Desola Adeniyi

Random question: You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? I would be rose gold because it’s my absolute favourite colour. It’s luxurious and classy.

Are you a bold introvert? Have you always been one? I am bold introvert in certain situations, it depends on my mood and the type of people that I’m dealing with. For example, when I’m working with clients and customers  I sometimes have to put my foot down, be assertive and say no to their request. It’s something that I’m still working on and I plan to become a 100% bold introvert. My goal push/challenge myself to step out my comfort zone more, enjoy life to the fullest and embrace my introvertness. Being an introvert is not a curse and I want it to be something that I’m not ashamed of and carry with confidence.

What do you do? I am a fashion blogger over at and my blog is a perfect platform for me as I express myself better through written word. It’s a place for me to share my thought and get creative as much as I can. I studied fashion journalism so that’s where the passion for writing came from. I really want to experiment with fashion so plan to start doing the classic OOTD posts just to get into the habit of dressing up, taking pictures, watching my style evolve.

What are you most proud of? I’m proud that I graduated from university with undergraduate and postgraduate degree and got a chance to work for a number of magazines including Closer, Look and Mother and Baby. During my degree I interned at closer and look and it was so much fun being surrounded by beautiful clothes and stylish people. The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was friendly. No devil wears Prada moments! Got lots of freebies and they had sample sales where you could buy samples from PRS from £2! It was a great way to get contacts and mix with the movers and shakers of the industry. Because everyone was friendly and it was a small fashion team I felt relaxed and didn’t feel awkward and got on with everyone. I would say that I was a bold introvert during my interning days. Interning is a great way to get into the industry and build experience.

Do you feel that your personality trait has helped you achieve your goals? Yes because being an introvert has helped me to be compassionate, a good listener, understanding and taking the time to do things. I plan to keep on improving myself to achieve bigger and better things.

What advice do you have for introverts who are worried about chasing their dreams? My advice would be to don’t let extroverts tell you that being an introvert won’t get you anywhere in life. It will. You don’t have to be the loudest person in the room to make an impact. Don’t be afraid to step out your comfort zone and achieve great things. Believe in yourself. Focus on you and keep pushing and moving.
