Bold Introvert; Let’s Hear From Victoria

Name: Victoria Sully

Random question: You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? I’d be a green colour.  I love green as it symbolises nature.  It’s such a calming peaceful colour to be.  Surprisingly it’s not my favourite colour as that is teal, but if there could only be one colour ever it would have to be green.

Are you a bold introvert? Have you always been one? It’s only recently that I’ve come to understand what an introvert is and that it’s not a bad thing.  I was always pretty quiet and this has always been remarked to me as though it is a bad thing.  I always felt like I was supposed to be loud and outgoing and that something was wrong with me.  I don’t feel like I’m a quiet person, but I don’t need to be the centre of attention, I don’t like to be the one who is heard in large groups and I definitely can’t go up to a stranger and talk to them with ease.  Give me someone I have something in common with and I can talk their socks off.  I’ve always been determined and stubborn, however, these qualities along with being able to work well by myself have enabled me to build a business for myself from home.  Perhaps if I was a social bee or didn’t like to be by myself so much I wouldn’t have been able to work at home by myself so well.

What do you do? I am currently a full time blogger at www.lyliarose.com.  I also have a few side hustles such as website testing, online selling and doing mystery tasks, but the blogging is the most fruitful and successful home venture of mine.  I write about healthy living, money, self-employment and family lifestyle mainly. I do also write about travel, home and garden.  I started a second blog this year at www.healthyvix.com which I have niched down to just the healthy topic as it’s my most passionate.  I hope to build this up to be another profitable blog in the next couple of years.

What are you most proud of? I’m really proud I’ve been able to make a consistent full time income for over one year since I took the plunge to do this full time.  I had been blogging before this for a few years but without monetizing.  Taking the leap to go full time and quitting my employed part time job at the time was a really terrifying decision.  I was worried I’d lose all my income, but thankfully it’s gone really well so far.

Do you feel that your personality trait has helped you achieve your goals? Yes absolutely.  I am hard working, determined and ambitious.  I don’t need to be an extrovert to have these qualities. I can knuckle down and work by myself for hours quite happily.  I’m very self-motivated and disciplined.  I can work in quiet and focus on the task in hand.  I’m not easily distracted from my work.  When I’m in the zone, I’m in the zone!  I can imagine some extroverts may find it challenging to work alone all day.

What advice do you have for introverts that are worried about chasing their dreams? Do not worry about it, go for it!  Have confidence and belief in yourself.  I like to say I’m quietly confident!  There are ‘extroverts’ I know who are actually not very confident in themselves or their abilities at all, though on the outside they appear it.  In fact, don’t label yourself at all and just be you.  One of my favourite sayings is ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way’.  If you really want something then you will find a way to make it happen.  And if it doesn’t?  At least you tried.  Never regret trying.
